Marianne answers to many names: Monna, Marianne, Sister Sue, Mrs. Jenkins, and her newest favorite, Nonna. She's the mother of three amazing grown children and Nonna to nine grandchildren, age eight and under. Her husband, playmate, and soulmate is Chip, music composer, New York Times crossword solver, and lead guitarist and vocalist in the band, Mokie. Chip and Marianne lived in Park City for a bit, moved east to Connecticut—Chip’s stomping ground—and then returned to Utah five years ago. While in Connecticut, Marianne taught at polar-opposite schools. One in their small shoreline town, and one in New Haven, with Achievement First. Most recently she taught fifth grade in Pier 20 at Canyon Rim Academy, just five minutes from where she attended elementary school. Between playing with those nine little ones and attending Mokie gigs, you might find Marianne puttering in her garden and babying her hydrangeas, riding her blue coaster bike, Tasket, losing herself in a book, walking her furry family member, Bo, cooking up dinner for friends, playing board games (Taboo is her favorite), or watching Jeopardy with Chip. Yes, they do that. She's thrilled and honored to be a part of Rowland Hall!
